CGP Coating

CGP Coating (Carbide-Granule-Processed Coating) represents a cutting-edge surface engineering technology designed for applications where extreme abrasion and impact resistance are required.

CGP Coating

Originally developed for the recycling industry, CGP coating has quickly proven its value in a range of industries where standard wear-resistant materials fall short.

CGP coating is a hardfacing solution applied via welding wire with a hardness of HRC 55–60, incorporating 45–50% carbide content in the overlay. The result is an ultra-durable wear layer with a thickness of 3–4 mm, capable of outperforming standard base materials by a factor of 3 times or more.

Key Properties:

  • Exceptional Wear Resistance: High volume of carbides in the matrix ensures long life under abrasive conditions.
  • Extended Lifespan: Lasts up to 3x longer than the base body material, significantly reducing downtime and replacement costs.
  • High Hardness: HRC 55–60 provides excellent protection against impact and abrasive wear.
  • Thickness: 3–4 mm of hardfaced layer ensures deep wear protection.
  • Strong Metallurgical Bond: Ensures excellent adhesion and resistance to chipping or spalling.

In the recycling industry, hammers used in shredders and crushers are subjected to intense abrasion from metals, glass, and composites. CGP coating dramatically extends the service life of these components by forming a robust wear barrier that absorbs the worst of the impact and abrasion.

Users report 3 to 5 times longer service intervals, resulting in:

  • Fewer replacements
  • Less downtime
  • Improved throughput

While developed for recycling equipment, CGP coating’s performance characteristics make it suitable for a wide range of heavy-duty applications:

1. Mining and Quarrying Equipment

2. Cement and Aggregate Industry

3. Steel and Foundry Industry

4. Agriculture

5. Forestry and Biomass

If your equipment operates in a highly abrasive or impact-prone environment, CGP coating is an ideal choice. Would you like this article formatted for print, or need visuals or diagrams to go with it (e.g., a cross-section of the coating or comparative wear charts)?
