Production of Untha RS100 cutting unit full set
EUROTOOLS has successfully completed the production of a full set of cutting discs for an UNTHA RS100/Z2 shredding unit for a customer in Germany 🇩🇪
The project included a complete combination of cutting and broaching discs with different cutting-edge angles, manufactured according to the required dimensions and configuration of the shredding unit.
Complete set of UNTHA RS100/Z2 cutting discs
The manufactured set consisted of discs with an outer diameter of 390 mm and different thicknesses and cutting-edge configurations.
The production included:
- UNTHA RS100/Z2 cutting discs
- UNTHA RS100/Z2 broaching discs
- different disc thicknesses: 43.3 mm, 54.5 mm and 57.8 mm
- different cutting-edge angles: 0°, 4° and 30°
- complete production according to the required cutting-unit configuration
This combination enables the customer to assemble a complete replacement cutting unit using EUROTOOLS-manufactured components.
High-grade 1.6587 steel with carburized surface
For this project, the discs were manufactured from 1.6587 steel, selected for demanding industrial applications where high mechanical strength and wear resistance are required.
The components were heat-treated to achieve:
Material: 1.6587
Carburizing depth: 2 mm
Hardness: 58–60 HRC
The combination of a tough core and a hard, wear-resistant carburized surface is particularly suitable for cutting components exposed to high loads, impacts and abrasive wear during shredding operations.

This makes it possible to manufacture replacement cutting discs and other wear parts for older or heavily used recycling machinery where original documentation may no longer be readily available.
